New resources for Kindergartens on Epi Island

A quick update for you.  Some of the RSE workers in our region asked if we could help resource two kindergartens on their island.  Sure!   The word was put out – the response has been fantastic.  Good quality books, puzzles, durable toys and writing equipment have been collected.

Today we delivered some of the gear to our Epi friends for them to sort out in preparation for a shipping container being sent to Vanuatu.

Below with Belinda (that’s me) are Netty from Nikaura Bay (eastern Epi) and Meribel from Mabfilau (western Epi) – the two communities that will benefit from these generous donations.

Georgia understands the importance of giving. From a long line of “givers”. Tank yu tumas.

This little cutie is the 4th generation in a family I have known for many years.   Her great-granddad is a long time  (30+ years in fact) advocate for rural communities across Vanuatu.   Now this little darling has donated some of her own toys, games and educational equipment the quest to help resource two kindergartens on the island of Epi.

Netty and Netty were the ones who made the original request for help.   Along with the kindergarten resources are also clothes, sheets and towels.   The ladies were absolutely delighted.     Thank you so much to the families and kindergartens in my region who have taken up the challenge to have a clean out and re-home some excellent goodies.    It might take a while, but we have been promised some photos of the equipment in use – so watch this space.
